Simon is a principal and consulting actuary in the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He first joined the firm's London Health practice in June 2009, transferring to Milwaukee in November 2012. Simon has more than 20 years of experience in the life and health insurance industry, with significant experience in international health insurance markets. He has previously worked for the international reinsurer Swiss Re Life & Health and the global employee benefit consultancy Mercer. Immediately prior to joining Milliman, Simon was the chief product actuary for the Worldwide Accident & Health business at ALICO AIG Life. His specific areas of expertise include: Medicare Advantage bid development and certification, feasibility studies, and associated services Dual eligible demonstration programs Development and actuarial modeling of payer-provider contract and risk-sharing programs Population and utilization demand modeling for healthcare provider systems Product development, pricing, reserving and portfolio analysis of accident and health insurance products such as medical insurance, hospital cash and surgical plans, and accidental death and disability insurance International health insurance markets, particularly Europe, the Middle East, and East Africa, and including expatriate insurance Simon was a member of the Institute of Actuaries Health & Care Committee from 2009 through 2012, and chaired the UK Actuarial Profession's 2009 Health & Care Conference.
